More LULAC Plans on Remand
The state of Texas's proposed plan is here.
On page 16 of the brief, the state does not strongly argue for the
remedial plan to be delayed until the 2008 elections, this despite the
fact that elections under the old districts have already taken place.
Is this an indication that the state thinks the new plan will help
Republicans further?
The Jackson plaintiffs' proposed plan is here.
They also call for (see page
4 of the brief) a change effective for 2006, but using a very
different map than that proposed by the state.
