Don't mistake ballot fatigue for voters just thinking the lower stuff on the ballot isn't as important, or that they haven't received as much information about those down ballot candidates and issues. Since schools began to reduce or eliminate civics education in the 1980s, fewer and fewer voters have any clue as to what those down ballot offices have to do with their lives.

I am looking for research on ballot fatigue caused by too many offices on a single ballot.  Secondarily, ballot fatigue caused by too many measures on a ballot would be helpful, though my primary interest relates to the number of offices.  Any suggestions?
