Truly Tragic News: Greg Coleman Has Died in a
Plane Crash
The former Solicitor General of Texas who was one of the brains
behind the NAMUDNO case has died in a plane
crash. Someone forwarded me an announcement from the Weil
firm, where Coleman used to work, and a message from a partner
there, reading in part: "Greg joined the firm as a young
associate, returned after his supreme court clerkship, and
returned once again as a partner after serving as the first
Solicitor General of the State of Texas. Not only was he one of
the premier appellate lawyers in the country, Greg was first class
in every respect. I often heard him described as a rare talent -
he was also a rare human being."
Such a tragedy. Condolences to his family at this time of great
sorrow.
