FYI, Listers: I just saw a Draft Hillary broadcast ad.  When I went to the web for information, this was the first item I found.

"The Idealist: Jeff Smith was a rising political star. Then the FBI started asking questions about his past."

This New Republic article, which touches on the FEC and and FBI political investigation, comes highly recommended by Mike Allen. He says: "If you're a young person who works in politics or wants to work in politics, this could be the most important Playbook you ever read. In the chaos of a campaign, someone may tempt you to cut a corner or cross a line into something illegal or unethical, and may offer an apparently compelling justification for doing so. An electrifying article in the forthcoming issue of The New Republic shows how costly that can be."

Revised Version of My New Lobbying Paper Now Available

I have posted a revised version of Lobbying, Rent Seeking, and the Constitution, which responds to some constructive comments I received from readers and workshop participants. It clarifies the "national economic welfare" rationale to support some lobbying regulations (and potentially some campaign finance regulations as well) against possible First Amendment challenges.
