Does anyone know what specific types of equipment are used for EARLY voting (in person) in Illinois? I went to verified voting, and they list both paper (op scan) and DRE, but there is no statement about satellite early voting locations.

As I blogged yesterday at electionupdates.caltech.edu and earlyvoting.net, the UOCAVA ballots were sent a few weeks ago. I'm trying to track down when no-excuse absentee ballots need to be printed and mailed.

How to read this development? On the one hand, the court would be unlikely to do it if they were not seriously considering taking the case. On the other hand, Emanuel would suffer irreparable injury if this stay were not granted. Once the ballots would be printed without his name, unless they could be reprinted he'd have virtually no chance to win (aside from a possible Murkowski-like massive write-in campaign).
