Read the FEC Brief Opposing Cert in the Cao Case

See here (via Richard Winger). I think this one is fairly likely to be granted, given (1) the Court majority's continued interest in the deregulatory project; (2) the divide among the judges on the en banc panel of the Fifth Circuit; and (3) the potentially anti-party results of Citizens United, which the Court majority might wish to remedy through loosening party limits (something I and others have been predicting since the Court decided CU).
