I'm available too.  Instead, my position is consistent with the Constitution.  I favor an immediate shut down of the agency, and transfer of the entire staff and funding to the House Ethics Committee to complete the review of the Maxine Waters file.

People of the List, Usual Suspects, and Lurkers:

I would like to point out to everybody that I am an excellent candidate for a position on the FEC.

I would follow the statute, as interpreted by the courts -- notwithstanding the fact that I am pretty sure my position would itself be unconstitutional.

I would lard rulemakings and Advisory Opinions with unfortunate puns.  I would hire good-natured and friendly EAs.

I am not affiliated with leadership of either party, and after moonlighting recently in other capacities I am confident that neither party has much of a reservoir of goodwill saved for me.  So that whole dynamic, to the extent anyone cares, won’t be an issue.

I have no interest in competing for private clients after my tenure.  On the contrary, I promise to follow the lead of my idol, Lee Ann Elliott, and flee to someplace warm at the earliest opportunity.
