Neither. It is freedom of the press as an activity, namely, the dissemination of messages beyond the immediate reach of speech, which is the production of messages. It is not tied to either technology or those who do it professionally. Anyone who disseminates information in any way, professionally or not, is engaged in the activity of "press", just as anyone who produces information, professionally or not, is engaged in the activity of "speech".
