The answer is simple. Do away with the Australian Ballot, put all the votes on the internet in a searchable database, and let voters check and make sure the vote they cast for Prosser or Kloppenburg is still being counted for their respective candidate.
If anyone is held "accountable" for their vote, the criminal laws are sufficient to protect them. At the federal level, it seems to work for the freedom of speech, a constitutional right. Surely, the same criminal laws will be sufficient to protect voters, who don't share the same constitutional protections, at least at the federal level.
