Veterans Clinic

Los Angeles County has the largest concentration of homeless veterans in the country. Students at UCLA Law have the unique opportunity to give back to those who have served our country by providing much-needed legal services to these veterans. Students can join attorneys from Manatt, Phelps and Phillips LLP at legal intake sessions at the VA Campus next to UCLA on the second Tuesday of every month from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. There, students will gain valuable hands-on experience by interviewing clients and assisting them with a broad range of issues covering everything from debt to family law. Also, students may join attorneys from throughout Los Angeles County at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall downtown with the L.A. County Bar's Veteran's Project on the third Wednesday of every month from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. There, students assist veterans who have citations and warrants that prevent them from gaining meaningful employment. Students may also have the opportunity to write draft motions. Carpools to both service opportunities are available.
