A website called "Green Papers" has extensive information on Democratic and
Republican presidential primaries. http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/ It
takes some effort to navigate.
In the cases where the primaries are non-binding - held as "beauty
contests", the delegates pledged to different candidates are selected
through the party caucuses.

Subject: [EL] question from canada
I can see on the election calendar that democratic presidential primaries
are scheduled in different states. Hence my question, from Canada: will
there be or not democratic presidential primaries? How come some primaries
are not binding? I cant seem to find answers in the usual text books or
websites...
Thanks
Elisabeth
