Brad is right again about the inaccuracy of the TPM story claiming the
Brooklyn case is "the only known case of voter impersonation in the past
several decades." In my book, The Myth of Voter Fraud, I noted a case
involving a high school student in Londonderry, New Hampshire who shared
his father's name - Mark Lacasse - and impersonated his father in order
to vote in the 2004 Republican primary in that state (see chapter 4).
The father was away on business and the son knew that the father wanted
to vote for George W. Bush - who was running unopposed (the kid had a
lot to learn). The scene of the crime was the kid's high school,
doubling as a polling place - so, how easy it was for the perp to commit
the crime! One could argue whether a photo ID requirement would have
stopped this fraud.
