[EL] winning in Congress but not living in the district

Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA) did not actually live in the 9th Congressional District when he defeated a 28 year incumbent Congressman (Rick Boucher) in the 2010 election. His home was a very short distance outside of the District boundaries. The Virgnia General Assembly has since re-drawn the district lines to include Rep. Griffith's home in the 9th District.

Lyndon Johnson won the 1937 special election for the 10th District of
Texas. He was not living there and, I believe, never had lived there.

To the best of my knowledge I cannot find an example dating all the way
back to 1842 when Congress mandated single-member districts for Congress.

Thank you.
