[EL] Challenges to open primaries

The latest in the South Carolina Republican case is that the judge said the law is constitutional on its face, but may be unconstitutional as applied.  She will hold a trial this year on or after August 1, 2012.

another issue in that case is whether the party must obey a state law that says if it wants to nominate by convention, it can't unless 3/4ths of all the delegates to the party meeting agree.  Delegates who may be out of the room, or who have gone home early, are automatic "no" votes.

I am conducting a research project on constitutional challenges to
open primaries in states, and I was wondering if anyone has any input
on relatively recent developments aside from last year's Greenville
County Republican Party Executive Committee v. South Carolina, and
Miller v. Brown (4th circuit 2007).  If anyone knows where Greenville
County stands at present, that information would also be appreciated.

Many thanks,
