*         Full-time, 4 year fixed term, remuneration package: AU$92.6Kp.a. (which includes salary, leave loading and up to 17% superannuation)

Postdoctoral Research Associate duties and responsibilities:


*      This position will form part of a team conducting research on electoral integrity, under the supervision of the Project Director and Project Manager;

*      Duties involve developing the project datasets, writing and editing working papers and publications.


Essential skills and qualifications:


*      A PhD dissertation (defended before September 2012) in Comparative Politics, Political Science, or a related field is required;

*      Skills in research methods and use of standard statistical packages (Stata or SPSS);

*      A publication record in peer-reviewed international journals;

*      Excellent English language skills.

Desirable competencies:


*      Research interests in the study of comparative politics;

*      Strong research motivation, analytical and communication skills, oral, statistical, and written;

*      Ability to set priorities, work flexibly under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines;

*      Capacity for personal independence, initiative and creativity;

*      Ability to motivate colleagues and collaborate in teams;

*      Willingness to travel internationally and work in a multicultural context;

*      Some knowledge of other languages is highly desirable;

*      Skills in editing, writing and research;

*      Advanced skills with various standard software packages, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.


Remuneration package (Academic Level A): AU$92,604 p.a. (which includes a base salary AU$78,252 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).

Assistance towards the travel relocation costs following appointment (up to AU$3,000 for non-Australian residents and up to AU$1,000 for Australian residents).

Reimbursements of expenses will be available for up to two conferences (at which the fellow presents a written paper) per year (maximum of AU$1,000 and economy-class travel).
