At this early date, what everyone can say with certainty is that this
campaign was won on the ground, not with a macro-message, and not over the
air. (I do not yet believe a swing in the national mood fully explains the
complete reversal from the direction of 2010).

This blog post by Ace of Spades -- a must read -- suggests one reason why
the Right-leaning ground game may have badly failed.
