I don't know about other states with similarly harsh ID laws, but in Indiana
a person in the situation Gov. Carlson finds himself in wouldn't be able to
obtain the ID he'd need to vote in person without, at minimum, legally
changing his name so that it matches the name on his Social Security and
other official documents.
