[EL] AALS panel title

Rick had good things to say on The Rachel Maddow Show last night.
Some of us may find the AALS panel title change regrettable. Too many of the election-related laws I have seen appear more likely to suppress votes/voters than they are to bring additional integrity to elections. Of course, the new Virginia ID law (precleared by the DOJ) is a notable exception. The types of identification that are sufficient to allow Virginians to vote are broad enough (including new voter cards sent to all registered voters) to suggest that the law is about having voters provide reasonable evidence that they are who they say they are rather than it is about making voters jump through hoops to vote. Forcing putative voters to jump through unnecessary hoops to prove that they are who they say they are looks far more like (possibly unintentional) voter suppression than a call for election integrity.

Subject: [EL] AALS panel title
I've had some communications with the folks at AALS, who appears were not aware that the title of their "hot topic" program could be seen by some as controversial.
The panel has a new title, "Election Integrity and the Right to Vote:
Lessons from the 2012 Elections."
