I've received a handful of responses to my email a couple of weeks ago
(below), soliciting views on a separate AALS Election Law section. If
you'd like to weigh in, I'd appreciate your emailing me off list by the end
of next week.
I'm also interested in hearing suggestions of potential topics for
the section's program at the January 2014 AALS annual meeting in New York.
Though this seems a long way off, we're required to submit information to
the AALS in March. Given that the section's most recent programs have
focused on statutory interpretation, next year's section program will
probably involve an election law topic.
In addition to the section's panel, we have the opportunity to submit a
proposal for a half-day or full-day academic
symposium<http://wlulawfaculty.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/new-academic-symposium-track-to-begin-at-the-2014-aals-annual-meeting/>at
the AALS, which could potentially be published in Election Law Journal
(of which I'm co-editor). So please email me if you have ideas, either for
a panel or a longer symposium.
Thanks.
Dan
