The Mississippi Republican Party has said they will not hear the
challenge from Chris McDaniel because state law would not allow them
sufficient time to consider the evidence.
In a letter to McDaniel attorney Mitch Tyner, Mississippi Republican
Party Chairman Joe Nosef said the candidate should move their
challenge to the courts.

Confusing the 7th Circuit Cases <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=64076>

In an earlier post <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=64068>today, I
erroneously reported that the Wisconsin voter id appeal will be heard on
by the 7th Circuit on Sept. 9. That is incorrect. The date of that
hearing has not been set.
It is oral argument in the John Doe case which is now set for Sept. 9
<http://www.rightwisconsin.com/dailytakes/Oral-arguments-set-in-John-Doe-prosecutors-appeal-269386461.html>.
I apologize for the error.

Wayne County judge dismissed a lawsuit Wednesday that raised
suspicions of election fraud involving hundreds of absentee ballots
in Dearborn Heights.
Judge Robert Colombo Jr. lifted an injunction Wednesday morning that
halted the counting of absentee ballots after state Rep. David
Nathan, a state Senate candidate, sought a temporary restraining
order to set aside certain absentee votes cast in Tuesday's primary.
"There is absolutely no evidence in this case that there has been
one fraudulent ballot submitted by absentee ballot," Colombo said.

Looks Like a Lot of The Alleged #MSSEN CrossOver Voters Were

I've already discussed how McDaniel is not alleging nearly enough voters
who voted in the earlier Democratic primary to make up the margin with
Cochran. But now it appears that many of the allegations of the 3,500
crossover voters are not crossover voters at all
<http://yallpolitics.com/index.php/yp/post/38953/>. "In a precinct that
only had 37 democrat votes on the June 3 primary, Winningham alleges
approximately 200 people from that precinct 'are also crossover voters
who voted Democrat on June 3 and Republican on June 24.' That's
mathematically impossible."

July 11 AP story
<http://www.thecharlottepost.com/news/2014/07/11/state-national/final-arguments-on-n.c.-voting-laws/>:
"Schroeder, who was appointed to the federal bench by President George
W. Bush, indicated Thursday that he will issue a written decision in the
case within the next month."
This ruling will be significant, and along with /Frank v. Walker/ one of
the early tests of how much Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act can be
used to make up for the loss of the preclearance regime of Section 5.
Whatever the judge decides will likely be appealed to the 4th Circuit.
/Frank v. Walker/, involving Wisconsin's voter id law, is on appeal to
the 7th Circuit anda new motion by the state of Wisconsin
<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=64028> to use the id in the 2014
elections could be decided in a matter of weeks.
[An earlier version of this post incorrectly listed a Sept. 9 oral
argument date in the Wisconsin case.]
