[EL] today I finished gathering registration data by party for each state

30 states plus DC ask the question on their voter registration forms about party membership, or independent status.  Today (Nov. 18) I got the last state's totals (New Hampshire was the last to tally this) for the period just before this month's election.  The totals I show for these 30 states plus DC are:
Democratic 42,755,625Republican 30,938,676independent & misc. 27,688,850Libertarian 399,302Green 253,267Constitution 78,434Working Families 58,757Americans Elect 5,294other parties 1,661,179 (virtually all of these parties are organized in only a single state)
