Do you mean presidential primaries, or primaries for other office?  Which states?

Dear friends, 

A colleague noticed that there are several states this year in which the Democrats and Republicans will hold their primaries on different dates. Isn't this a major expense for the states, which have to arrange polling sites on two different dates?
