[EL] possible Obama choice of Gov. Brian Sandoval for US Supreme Court

hoping members of this list might enjoy talking about possible Obama choice of Gov. Brian Sandoval for US Supreme Court.  Sandoval was a US Dist Ct Judge 2004-2009, appointed by George W. Bush.  He quit the bench to run for Governor of Nevada.  He has won 2 terms, the 2nd time in 2014 by over 70%.  When he was confirmed for the US Dist Court the vote in the US Senate was unanimous.  He is pro-choice.  Although he was opposed to same-sex marriage, he was always in favor of civil unions, and when the US Supreme Court settled the issue he told politicians in Nevada to stop trying to put up any more roadblocks.
I think it is deliciously clever of Harry Reid and President Obama to think of this idea.  Already 3 Republican US Senators, at least, have said they still don't a hearing, not even for Sandoval if he is indeed chosen. Richard Winger 415-922-9779 PO Box 470296, San Francisco Ca 94147
