California does a constitutional amendment to create an internet primary
like Americans Elect was doing. This one would use instant runoff voting,
and take place before any party would have a nominee. This candidate would
be on the general election ballot in every state.
California pledges its EC votes to the winner of this internet primary.
This moots the democratic primary because they have a tough time getting to
270 without California.
However, this type of internet, national popular vote, instant
runoff, primary produces a nominee way more nationally likable than the GOP
primary could produce and it moots their primary too. It becomes the only
election that matters. And this garbage process of how we choose presidents
in this country is over forever. [Bows]
If only there were some billionaire hero who could do an initiative like
this... (I may have BCCed one, along with his family, business partner, and
secretary; but that wasn't my purpose for this email. This next question
is...).
Anyway, what are your guys' thoughts on the legalities (or other issues)? I
see no serious issues.
