I read that, and thought it was a very clever observation. Turns out, Trump found it “interesting”, as well. (http://theatln.tc/2erFK9R)
And, I’m thinking Zito might add a 3rd clause: “Attorneys take what Trump says literally AND seriously.”

Now that the exchange over Trump's claims has cooled, here's a thought.
If folks on this list are going to focus on Trump's various statements, it may be worth keeping in mind an observation made by Salena Zito:
Journalists take what Trump says literally, but not seriously.
Trump's supporters take what Trump says seriously, but not literally.
For those of us law types who are used to parsing language, this state of affairs may be quite disconcerting, but it is what it is.
