I am getting two copies of every message from the listserv. Is anyone
else experiencing this? It is annoying.
One should distinguish between releasing information that is true from
information that is not ("Fake news"), or from simple propaganda. It
seems everything released through Wikileaks or from the State Dept or
FBI was true. Can't object to that.
My personal experience with hacking has been of websites I manage.
Very annoying. I have been able to track down the countries of origin
of most of them. One came from France, a ransomware hack from an
Algerian Islamist group that I cleared by restoring from backup.
Another was a hack from the Philippines that seemed to penetrate my
encryption, but didn't do any real damage. Changed passwords. Most
have been from Russia, but I doubt from the Russian government. Mostly
hijacking of my site has been to sell drugs, or to borrow pagerank. I
doubt the government would bother with that. China had us blocked for
a while, but I understand ineffectively, as Chinese seem to be able to
work around it. (We advocate freedom for Tibet.)
So most likely some freelance hackers, or whistleblowers. Of course
the Russian government reads what they disclose.
How in the world could Comey refusing to recommend indictment have
caused people to vote against Clinton, unless it merely confirmed
their opinion of the reach of her corruption? Likely it increased the
turnout for Trump. Would she have preferred him to recommend
indictment?
Bizarro election. Future historians will have trouble believing it.
