I've got a situation where a claim about an improper election method is being held up through foot-dragging by the government. Their goal is to prevent resolution before the upcoming election.
I'm aware of federal redistricting cases I litigated where the court sped up the pace of proceedings in order to resolve the question in time for the upcoming election. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of such cases, especially if they are (a) state court cases, or (b) non-redistricting cases? Any authority that elections are important, it's worth speeding up the process to make sure the issue is resolved timely, letting the election come and go without fixing a problem is irreparable harm, etc. would be useful. Happy to take responses online or off-line.
