[EL] Dolores Huerta on California VRA Review

Dolores Huerta is submitting an amicus letter to the California Supreme
Court recommending that they grant the petition to review the recent
appellate decision in *Pico Neighborhood et al. v. City of Santa Monica*.

I would welcome any comments or suggestions that any of you may care to
share - on this blog or offline.   The appellate opinion places a limiting
construction on the CVRA, which could conceivably be argued in other
cases.   I represent that plaintiff or prospective plaintiff in Santa
Clarita, Ontario, and San Juan USD, and completed a number of settlements
in time for implementation this November.
