I wanted to let the listserv know of a project I am working on that will
have several positions available towards the end of the year, with the
thought that many of you may know potential candidates and could either
recommend them to me or forward the attached description to them.
The positions are for several individuals who will work on political reform
issues at national and state-based right-of-center think tanks. The project
envisions 3-5 persons who will be part-time adjunct scholars, providing
research, analysis, commentary, and testimony on a wide range of issues. The
people who fill these positions should generally be committed to advancing
policies that support ethical and effective government and a free and fair
elections process while also preserving the republican nature of our form of
government, constitutional checks and balances, the First Amendment,
counter-majoritarian protections, election integrity, and federalism. The
persons filling these positions will also be expected to look for and find
areas of cooperation, consensus, and compromise with the generally
left-of-center reform community.
Issues that these persons will be working on may include:
* Redistricting/Gerrymandering
* Federalism/Role of States
* Voter ID/Voter Registration
* Electoral College/National Popular Vote
* Instant Runoff/Ranked Choice Voting
* Vote By Mail/Absentee Voting
* Primary Systems
* State/Federal Legislative Processes
* Ethics/Corruption in Government
* Government Transparency/Access
* Strength/Independence of Political Parties
If you can think of anyone who may be suited for these positions, please
feel free to pass the attached job description along to them and encourage
them to contact me with any questions. Thank you.
