The UCLA Voting Rights Project is seeking to hire an emerging legal
advocate to serve as a staff attorney for the UCLA Voting Rights Project.  The
UCLA VRP is the flagship project of Latino Policy & Politics Initiative and
works to ensure an accessible and equitable system of voting through impact
litigation, research, and clinical education to expand access to the ballot
box. LPPI fosters innovative research, leverages policy-relevant expertise,
drives civic engagement, and nurtures a leadership pipeline to propel
viable policy reforms that expand opportunity for all Americans.



Reporting to the Legal Director, the staff attorney will play a critical
role in the Voting Rights Project, developing and litigating high-impact
cases, managing an ongoing docket of cases and matters, and working with
other departments to accomplish organizational goals. The staff attorney
will support the advocacy and research functions for the Voting Rights
Project, both pro-active and reactive. This includes shaping a legal docket
that advances the organization’s legal advocacy goals, sending and
following up on demand letters and open records requests, reviewing and
responding to intake requests, engaging in legislative advocacy,
participating and designing public education events, and speaking to the
media and others about our work.

Salary Range:                     Desired Range: $5,416-,$6,250 monthly
