[EL] Inslee bill to make lying punishable

Oh boy. If you read toward the end of the article he tries to walk it back
from the brink a bit by basically merging it into something approaching
incitement. Though I think you'd need intent and something stronger than
mere "potential" to get there. (Presumably Washington has something on the
books about incitement to violence already that would make this at best
redundant?)

In an interview Thursday afternoon, the governor said that for the gross
misdemeanor to kick in, there would have to be “knowledge that there’s
potential to create violence.”
For that reason, Inslee said he believes it’s constitutional and won’t run
afoul of prior court rulings.
