Special sessions often vary depending on state law. Virginia and Georgia had
special sessions specifically for redistricting. Others simple incorporate
redistricting into the regular session after maintaining sessions through
pro forma days and then reconvene in regular session for redistricting
This is an issue we can consider as part of a NCSL project in the near
future.
