NYT:
state is consumed by finger-pointing and finger-wagging as election
officials, lawmakers and voters try to make sense of what went wrong on
Election Day and during early voting. A record number of Florida voters
--- 8.4 million, or 70 percent of those registered --- cast ballots. Of
those, 2.1 million people voted early, and 2.4 million sent absentee
ballots."
CNN

"Gov. Rick Scott of Florida on Saturday said he requested a review of
his state's voting processes with a particular emphasis on areas where
voters waited four hours or longer to cast their ballots. ... But last
cycle, the state allowed two weeks of early voting, which was shortened
this year to eight days. Election boards were permitted to schedule as
little as 48 hours of early voting."
Miami Herald:

Rick Scott on Friday defended the state's handling of the election,
while his elections chief said the state bears some responsibility for
long voting lines and late vote counts."

"Arizona: Reid Adds Voice to Arizona Ballot Counting Frustrations"

Roll Call
<http://atr.rollcall.com/arizona-reid-adds-voice-to-arizona-ballot-counting-frustrations/>:
"But the outstanding ballot sum is much greater than the margin between
Flake and Carmona. At least one smart state Democrat is not completely
ruling out an upset when the votes are finally tallied. Arizona's 2nd is
the House race with the most uncertainty. As of this writing, retired
Air Force Col. Martha McSally was barely leading Democratic Rep. Ron
Barber. Sources from both parties strongly warn that any lead until
after the weekend is tenuous. Expect more see-sawing."

<http://news.bna.com/mpdm/MPDMWB/split_display.adp?fedfid=28587435&vname=mpebulallissues&jd=a0d5f8j1j1&split=0>:
"The Supreme Court is being asked in a newly filed petition to overturn
the century-old ban on corporate campaign contributions to federal
candidates. The request for Supreme Court review came Nov. 8 in a
long-running case involving Virginia businessman William Danielczyk, who
faces criminal charges of violating campaign finance laws by funneling
corporate contributions to the 2008 presidential campaign of Hillary
Clinton (Danielczyk v. U.S., U.S. 12-579, cert. petition filed 11/8/12).
In a 35-page petition for certiorari, lawyers for Danielczyk and his
business partner, Eugene Biagi, asked the court to re-examine the
fundamental distinction between campaign contributions and independent
campaign expenditures, which has been a hallmark of campaign finance law
since the Supreme Court's 1976 decision in Buckley v. Valeo."
