[EL] 2012 first time since 1952 when US House popular vote majority ends up as minority

How might the California top-two system affect this analysis, if at all?
That is, there were (I believe) six California races in which there were
two Democratic candidates on the ballot, and just two in which there were
two Republican candidates on the ballot. (There were also a few races in
which an independent ran alongside a major party candidate.) It strikes me
that this would distort the historical comparative value of the popular
vote for the parties.

Best,

Derek
