[EL] Moritz Report "The New Soft Money," Coming This Wednesday

This Wednesday, Renata Strause and I will release

spending, entitled *The New Soft Money: Outside Spending in Congressional*
*Elections.  *The report includes interviews with former Members of
Congress, such as Senators George Allen, Kent Conrad, and Ben Nelson, and
Representatives Mark Critz, Tim Holden, Steve LaTourette, and Joe Walsh, as
well as recent congressional candidates, campaign staff, political
operatives, legislative staff, and representatives of outside groups.

We'll release the report at a 9 am press conference at the National Press
Club (registration here

At *4:30 pm on Wednesday*, a panel discussion

on the report will take place at George Washington University Law School
(Lisner Hall 201, 2023 G St NW), hosted by the Political Law Studies
Initiative.  All those in the Washington DC area are welcome and invited to
attend.  The panel will feature Don McGahn, Larry Noble, Brad Smith, Brian
Svoboda, as well as Renata and me, and will be moderated by Bill McGinley.
