Small / Mid-Sized Law Firm Reception

Small and mid-sized law firms are of increasing importance in recruitment efforts at UCLA Law. The Office of Career Services offers a wide range of opportunities for our students and graduates, including a networking event hosted every March where students connect with representatives from more than 50 law firms. In 2014, approximately 200 students and more than 90 practitioners from 25 practice areas attended the event.

The Small / Mid-sized Law Firm Reception will take place on March 18, 2015.

Diversity Job Fairs

The Office of Career Services hosts informational programs and diversity events where students and lawyers can have candid conversations about practicing as a diverse lawyer.

One such program is the annual Law Firm Diversity Reception which includes law firms of all sizes, corporate counsel and affinity bar associations. Sponsoring organizations pay a fee that supports the Law Fellows Program in its continuing efforts to increase diversity in legal education. In February 2014, more than 40 law firms and organizations sponsored this important event.

The annual Law Firm Diversity Reception will take place in the spring of 2015.  Registration will begin in the late fall.  For more information, please email mentor@law.ucla.edu.

Government Reception and Information Fair

During the year, the Office of Career Services and Office of Public Interest Programs host several government-focused events. Included are a series of panel discussions where students learn about legal work in government at the local, state and federal level, as well as the Annual Government Reception and Information Fair where students connect with approximately 50 representatives from more than 25 government agencies and discuss internship, externship and employment opportunities.  

The reception will take place November 5, 2014.

Fall Semester Public Interest Reception and Information Fair

The annual Fall Semester Public Interest Reception and Information Fair, characterized by a “table-talk” format, affords nonprofit public interest employers the opportunity to meet our law students in an informal setting and to discuss their internship, externship and employment opportunities. Annual Southern California Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day

This annual early spring semester career fair, hosted by the School of Law and cosponsored by Southern California-area law schools, includes formal interviews for summer and postgraduate positions, panel discussions, informal lunchtime discussions focusing on different substantive areas of public interest practice, and informal “table-talk.” 

Our 30th Annual Southern California Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2015. The Office of Public Interest Programs will send out invitations to employers via the online Symplicity system in October 2014. Annual Off-Campus Interview Programs

UCLA is one of six law schools across the country chosen to participate in off-campus interview programs in Atlanta; the Bay Area; Chicago, Houston; Miami; New York; and Washington, DC. The interview programs offer flexibility in recruiting to meet your needs. You may specify hiring criteria and applicant materials and then choose to interview only those candidates you preselect.

West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair

Find global talent

Employers interested in enlisting international and other specialized legal talent are invited to attend the West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair, to be held on February 20, 2015. Registration will take place in the fall.

Organized and hosted by UCLA School of Law, a consortium of 18 law schools participate in this job fair. Employers have the opportunity to pre-select LL.M. candidates from a collective pool of high caliber students who hold their law degrees from around the globe.
