Guest Information

  • Seating

The Commencement ceremony and the reception are NOT ticketed. Both events are held outdoors, and seating will be limited. Seats will fill up on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend early arrival in order to secure seats, especially if you have a large party of guests or your guests are elderly or sun-sensitive. Please be mindful of the limited availability of seats.

An area designated for wheelchairs will be located in the northwest corner of Dickson Court North, near the front of the stage.

If your guests need a sign language interpreter, please email studentaffairs@law.ucla.edu.

  • Attire

The Commencement ceremony and the reception are both held outdoors, so hats, visors, and the use of sunblock are highly recommended. Umbrellas and balloons will not be permitted as they will block the view of others. There will be water stations available throughout the courtyard, and we recommend bringing reusable water bottles.

If you are unable to use the Bruin ePermit website, you may purchase an hourly or daily parking permit from a campus pay station, which can range up to $20.

    ADA Parking

Vehicles with DMV-issued Disability Parking Placards may park at any parking structures and around the perimeter of Dickson Court, where the Commencement ceremony and reception will take place. Starting April 12, please visit the Bruin ePermit website and choose the “UCLA Law School Commencement” to purchase your parking permit in advance. It will prompt you to choose between Structure/Lot 2 or 3, but you may park at other locations. The permit is $15 per vehicle.
