The Office of Student Services—which includes both the Office of Student Affairs and Student Records—works closely with students, as well as other offices within the law school and across the UCLA campus, to advise current students and make their time at UCLA School of Law as smooth, productive, and collegial as possible.   • Bayrex Martí | Assistant Dean of Student Affairs | marti@law.ucla.edu

    Dean Martí joined UCLA School of Law in January 2020. At UCLA School of Law, he oversees the Office of Student Affairs, which provides broad support to students as they manage academic, professional, and personal priorities and demands. Among other annual events and initiatives, the Office of Student Affairs manages J.D. First-Year Orientation and Commencement. As Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dean Martí develops programming and meets with students to offer academic advising and support; personal counseling; bar admission and moral character consultation; and guidance on student life, activities, and institutional policies and resources. Furthermore, he works with students and other community members on equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging issues.

    Prior to working at UCLA School of Law, he served as Assistant Dean for Student Life at the University of Michigan Law School and held admissions and financial aid roles at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Dean Martí holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico.

  • Tiffani Garnett, Ed.D. | Director of Student Affairs and Inclusive Learning Environment | garnett@law.ucla.edu

    Dr. Garnett joined UCLA School of Law in July 2023. At UCLA School of Law, she supports students in balancing academic, professional, and personal priorities. She oversees well-being programs and initiatives that advance inclusive excellence, while providing counseling and strategic guidance on issues affecting law school performance and overall well-being.

    With over 21 years of experience on the UCLA campus, Dr. Garnett is a recognized leader in higher education, committed to fostering inclusive, health-promoting environments that strengthen community resilience. Her work is grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion, and she has been instrumental in shaping UCLA’s campus culture.

    As a proud First-Generation Professional, Dr. Garnett has served in various leadership positions at UCLA, including interim Director of UCLA Student Health Education and Promotion, Assistant Director of the UCLA Bruin Resource Center (BRC), founding director of the UCLA Intergroup Relations Program, and lecturer at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health.

  • Carmina Ocampo | Director of Student Life | ocampo@law.ucla.edu

    Carmina  is the Director of Student Life. In her role she supports and advises law student organizations, transfer students, international students, students with disability-related accommodations, and joint degree students and she advises students on academic and personal matters. Prior to joining UCLA Law, Carmina earned a B.A. and J.D. from UCLA where she specialized in Critical Race Studies. She is a former Skadden Fellow and practiced public interest law for many years at Asian Americans Advancing Justice- Los Angeles and Lambda Legal. She also served on the boards of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Philippine American Bar Association of Los Angeles.

  • Iman Jafri | Assistant Director of Student Publications | jafri@law.ucla.edu

    Iman serves as the Assistant Director of Student Publications at UCLA School of Law. Her responsibilities include supporting UCLA's 15 legal journals with journal production and management, organizing UCLA annual Specialty Journal Application Process, serving as a liaison between journals and external partners like publishers and scholarship databases, processing academic credit requests for journal participation, and providing support for the Office of Student Services. Iman received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Anthropology from the Carleton College and a Master of Divinity from Harvard University. Before joining UCLA Law, Iman worked as a chaplain and journalist in Minnesota.

  • Theresa Robbinson | Student Affairs Coordinator | robbinson@law.ucla.edu

    Theresa has been a member of the UCLA Law staff since 2022. As the Student Affairs Coordinator, she is dedicated to fostering a positive, and supportive environment within the Office of Student Affairs, ensuring that all students have productive experiences. Theresa oversees the coordination of event logistics for Student Affairs programs, oversees the office’s daily operations, and co-leads student programming under the Thrive: Mind/Body/Heart initiative.

    Before joining UCLA Law, Theresa held extensive roles in student services, as well as teaching and administrative positions, including a faculty role at Baruch College. She earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. in Social Sciences from Long Island University, Brooklyn. With over 15 years of experience working with college students, her expertise spans leadership development, academic advising, social justice initiatives, crisis management, community service, and health and wellness programs.
