Health Care: Regulatory and Compliance Issues

This course introduces students to the U.S. healthcare system and the state and federal regulatory frameworks that govern the provision of and payment for healthcare and healthcare industry relationships. The course covers core principles of administrative law, healthcare licensure, certification, and payment issues, with an emphasis on the impact of the healthcare regulatory environment on healthcare operations and legal compliance. Students will evaluate how regulatory structures affect access to care, quality, and business decision-making, while also exploring healthcare transaction fundamentals and emerging issues.  This course will equip students with an analytical framework for navigating regulatory compliance and assessing the real-world implications of a highly regulated healthcare industry.
