Law and Gender: Equality, Rights, Citizenship

This course introduces LL.M. students to U.S. constitutional doctrine, statutory law, and regulations that impact gender equality and citizenship in the areas of employment, reproductive rights, marriage rights, and immigration. The legal doctrines and procedures by which the law enforces and inhibits gendered equality will be interrogated through comparisons with international law and the law of other nations. Students will focus on both the doctrinal development of this law and its relevance to contemporary controversies.
