Real Estate Law: Affordable Housing

Business & Tax Law

The Real Estate Law Clinic offers students practical, hands-on training and experience working on live and simulated real estate transactions involving the development and finance of affordable housing. Students in the clinic will represent one or two developers at various stages in the process of developing affordable housing for low-income residents of Los Angeles. Through both classroom instruction drawing upon practice-oriented readings, case studies and simulated exercises, as well as clinical work representing nonprofit and for-profit clients, students will learn to apply real estate concepts in a real world context and acquire skills required by a modern transactional real estate practice. While there are no prerequisites for this course, taking Advanced Real Estate Transactions may be useful.
