UCLA School of Law receives notices and information about various scholarships, fellowships and writing competitions sponsored by foundations, alumni associations, bar associations, etc. The Financial Aid Office will post applicable notices on this page or our intranet site as received.

THE HONORABLE PATRICIA HERRON AND THE HONORABLE ELLEN JAMES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving law student (or students) with demonstrated leadership potential, academic success, and a commitment to women’s issues and Contra Costa County.  The scholarship award(s) range from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the number and quality of our applicants.

IALA LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The Los Angeles County Italian American Lawyers Association proudly offers its annual. As in prior years, one $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a law student, and the recipient will be honored at IALA’s annual December Supreme Court night.  Please note that the deadline to receive, not to send in, the application is September 30, 2019.

RONALD HEDDING LAW FIRM $2,500 STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
This Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, CA criminal defense law firm is offering an annual $2,500 scholarship.  It is our goal to help students with limited financial means to obtain a quality education to improve their chances of brighter future. The intent of this annual scholarship is to reward hard working students who need financial assistance.

LAW STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP
Finnish and American law students are eligible for an award from the P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Studies Fund administered by FFN. Pertti Lindfors, a Finnish-American attorney in San Francisco, California, established the scholarship to encourage cross-cultural study and understanding by law students in Finland and the U.S.  Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $3,000 (U.S.).

Law Offices of Seppi Esfandi, A Criminal Defense Law Firm in Los Angeles, CA, is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one law student in the United States.  The 2019 scholarship will be based on an essay and can be done on any topic. One very important item to include in the essay is the reason you need the scholarship.

CIVIL RIGHTS AND CRIMINAL LAW ESSAY COMPETITION
Spolin Law, a Los Angeles based firm, has created a Civil Rights and Criminal Law Essay Competition, the winner of which will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to raise awareness of criminal and civil rights issues and support students who can articulate the importance of these principles.

Lavent Law is proud to offer a $3,500 scholarship to an immigrant who is a current or aspiring law student.

This Los Angeles based law firm will offer the recipient of the scholarship award a check in the amount of $1,000, which will be made payable directly to the recipient’s law school.

ARNOLD & ITKIN LLP ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
Arnold & Itkin LLP will award $5,000 to two current law students who share our passion for assisting the underprivileged and the victims of tragedy. HOLLIS G. BEST SCHOLARSHIP
As a memorial to the late Presiding Justice Hollis G. Best, his friends have established a scholarship to encourage and support outstanding academic achievement and commitment to service by law students. The Best Scholarship is an annual award presented this year in the amount of $2,000, during the Spring 2020 semester. More than one scholarship may be awarded.

HON. WILLIAM C. CONNER WRITING COMPETITION
The Honorable William Conner Writing Competition was established to recognize exceptionally written papers that are submitted by law students and is presented each year at the Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner. The winner will receive a cash award of $1,500 and the Runner-up will receive a cash award of $1,000.

We are proud to announce the Taylor & Ring Victim Advocate Scholarship. This annual $5,000 award will be given to a student interested in pursuing the study of law with a specific goal of helping survivors of sexual assault, rape, child abuse, or sexual harassment in the workplace.
