Come learn about one of UCLA’s most impactful initiatives: the Behind Bars Data Project. For the past five years, the Project has worked to increase transparency and accountability in American prisons, jails, and detention centers by collecting, publishing, and analyzing data on conditions of confinement.
At this session, you’ll meet the faculty and students leading the work, hear about the nine active projects underway, and explore ways to get involved. Whether your interest is research, advocacy, or hands-on project work, there’s a place for you in this effort to bring visibility to what happens inside carceral facilities.
