Moving Beyond Externalization in the U.S.-Mexico Relationship

Join the UCLA’s Center for Immigration Law and Policy (CILP) and the Seminar Migration, Inequality and Public Policies (MIGDEP) at El Colegio de México (COLMEX) on February 26 at 10am PT / 12pm CT for a webinar about their forthcoming policy paper, "Moving Beyond Externalization in the U.S.-Mexico Relationship." The paper considers the challenges and opportunities of the current moment in charting a new path forward in the U.S.-Mexico relationship on migration.

This webinar will feature a brief presentation of the paper and its recommendations by its author and CILP Staff Attorney Sofía López Franco, followed by a dialogue between scholars and advocates in the U.S. and Mexico, moderated by CILP Faculty Co-Director Hiroshi Motomura, MIGDEP Professors Claudia Masferrer and Luicy Pedroza, and CILP Deputy Director Talia Inlender.

Brief comments on the paper will be given by CUNY School of Law Associate Dean David C. Baluarte, Director at IMUMI Gretchen Kuhner, UCLA Professor Cecilia Menjivar, and CIDE Professor Elena Sánchez-Montijano.
