Julius Nam is a Lecturer in Law at UCLA School of Law and teaches Part-Time Criminal Practice Externship Seminar. His research lies in the intersection of criminal law and civil rights as well as law and religion.  He currently works as the Director of the Honors Program at La Sierra University, where he is also Professor of Theology, Law, and Conflict Resolution. Previously, he worked in the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles and as the Acting Director of the Community Relations Service.

Nam received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in religion at Andrews University, and his J.D. with Public Interest Law and Policy concentration at UCLA School of Law where he served as editor-in-chief of UCLA Law Review. He clerked for the Honorable Sheri Pym and the Honorable Virginia A. Phillips of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Nam writes regularly for The Law Times, a South Korean daily, and Spectrum Magazine on the intersection of law, religion, and history.
