Richard S. Gendler

Lecturer in Law

Richard S. Gendler is a Lecturer in Law at UCLA School of Law and teaches the Master of Legal Studies Capstone Seminar. He is also full-time business law faculty at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business. His teaching and research focus on business law, bankruptcy, regulatory compliance, and applied ethics. He currently serves as a Special Magistrate for several Florida municipalities, is a securities arbitrator for FINRA, a Fee Arbitrator for The Florida Bar, and has adjudicated complex civil and commercial matters in private arbitration proceedings. Gendler is also a principal of Gendler & Gendler, PLLC, where he lends his three decades of professional practice experience in the areas of business law, debtor-creditor law, and commercial disputes.

Gendler received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Hartford, his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, his Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University, two LL.M. degrees, including an LL.M. in Bankruptcy & Restructuring, as well as an LL.M. in Business Law/Regulatory Compliance concentration from the Florida State University College of Law, and a J.S.D. from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Gendler’s publications have appeared in The Tax Adviser, Florida CPA Today, EA Journal, Journal of Medical Practice Management, OIV Journal of Economics and Finance, the ABI Law Review, and in the AICPA/Wiley textbook Essentials of Forensic Accounting, among others.
