Professor Jason Oh has been appointed to the Lowell Milken Chair in Law at UCLA Law.

UCLA School of Law Professor Jason Oh has received a faculty chair appointment in recognition of his substantial contributions to the study of tax law – including, on May 12, his latest appearance before the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee.

Faculty chairs acknowledge the distinction of the law school’s outstanding professors and are made possible by the incredible generosity of UCLA Law’s alumni and friends. UCLA Law has 69 full-time faculty members and 35 endowed chairs.

The loss of former California Supreme Court justice and UCLA School of Law Professor Cruz Reynoso, who died on May 7 at age 90, has left the UCLA Law community saddened.

Distinguished Professor Hiroshi Motomura and Professor Timothy Malloy were presented with the Rutter Award for Excellence in Teaching at a virtual ceremony on April 28. They are the 43rd and 44th recipients of UCLA School of Law’s highest honor for distinction in the classroom.

For the first time, leaders across Indian country have a toolkit available to them to address Indigenous and human rights through tribal lawmaking that supports and implements the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
