(L to R) Nancy McLaughlin, Garry Jenkins, Jill Horwitz, Tinu Adediran and Lloyd Mayer were among the national authorities in the law of nonprofit charitable organizations who attended the summit at UCLA Law in 2022.

When more than 40 experts in the law of charitable nonprofit organizations gathered at UCLA School of Law toward the end of 2022, the early fall weather had not yet turned cool, and the warmth outdoors reflected the positive spirit of the occasion.

The UCLA School of Law Lowell Milken Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofits and Loyola Law School have jointly hosted the Western Conference on Tax-Exempt Organizations. The conference attracts lawyers, accountants and in-house professionals representing a broad range of nonprofit organizations. Government officials will give federal and state updates, and prominent nonprofit practitioners, academics, and other experts from the sector will speak on current topics in nonprofit tax, state law, accounting and other compliance matters.
