LAW 506

Advanced Topics: Corporate & Securities Law

Business & Tax Law

This seminar and workshop allows students to explore topics introduced in the basic corporate law and securities regulation classes in greater depth. It does so through a combination of course readings, workshops by corporate and securities law professors, and writing of a research paper on a corporate or securities law subject of the student’s choice. The content of the class will change from semester to semester, but we will typically cover 5 or 6 topics relating to corporate and securities law. For each topic, the class will read and discuss background material on a subject then a speaker will present a related paper the following week. Some possible topics might include insider trading, activist investors, M&A litigation, derivatives regulation, and high-frequency trading.
