The Criminal (In)Justice System

Criminal Justice, Public Interest Law

This seminar will help prepare students to defend clients charged with crimes, especially in difficult or controversial cases. It explores how, why, and when injustices arise and develops tools to assist students in evaluating assertions of innocence and maximizing their chances for eliminating or reducing injustice both in individual cases and more broadly through law reform. The seminar is also suitable for non-lawyers who care deeply about criminal justice, either through their work or their ethical commitments.
